Introduction

The 2021 SOUTHERN BRAZILIAN JOURNAL OF CHEMISTRY CONFERENCE is a cultural event organized by the Southern Brazilian Journal of Chemistry, the Periódico Tchê Química, and other partners to celebrate almost 30 years of the Southern Brazilian Journal of Chemistry.

The goal of the conference is to provide the authors a place to present multiple forms of scientific communications, such as poster presentation, the full manuscript publication, expanded abstract publication, and a pre-recorded poster presentation (up to 5 min long).

The conference structure is aimed to value the author's work and not their financial investment. Therefore, the more significant is the author's engagement in the conference, the lowest will be the financial investment. (to see more, please read the fees and discounts section)

The conference website is under constant improvement. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

    Results & Awards

    Manuscripts (do not forget to submit them until 10 June 2022)

  • Best manuscript (full paper) R$ 1.000, selected by the Scientific Committee
  • Most of the full papers will be published in the Southern Brazilian Journal of Chemistry;
  • The best 3 manuscripts will be published at the Periódico Tchê Química (1806-0374) without any costs. The following distribution will do the section: 1 manuscript will be chosen by the Editorial commission; 1 manuscript will be chosen by popular voting (most liked abstract on the youtube channel of the Southern Brazilian Journal of Chemistry < https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0lHoKm9LPclnzpBWlZs0Nw/videos>), and the Editors will choose 1 manuscript outside of Brazil. * The special categories of Law and Philosophy and history of Science can't receive this opportunity since they are out of the scope of the Periódico Tchê Química.

    Abstracts

  • The digital Certificate of attendance (modality of Poster (PPT presentation) + Pitch pre-recorded presentation) will be expedited by the University of Vassouras (Brazil), and it will be sent by e-mail;
  • The book of the conference (with ISBN) and the expanded abstracts of the presented works will be freely offered for download.
  • 100% of the accepted expanded abstracts were published with DOI numbers.
  • Award Equation for the best 5 abstracts = (number of likes on the youtube video + points on the authors' evaluation form (send to the correspondence author e-mail).
    The 3 most voted expanded abstracts will receive an honorific certificate, and positions 4 and 5 will receive a special mention certificate.

    Open Access and Copyright Information

    All articles published by the Southern Brazilian Journal of Chemistry (SBJChem) are made immediately available worldwide under an open access license Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0). This means:

  • everyone has free and unlimited access to the full-text of all articles published in the Southern Brazilian Journal of Chemistry;
  • everyone is free to reuse the published material if proper accreditation/citation of the original publication is given;
  • open access publication is supported by the authors' institutes or research funding agencies by payment of an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted articles.

    Open Access journals are no different from traditional subscription-based journals; they undergo the same peer-review and quality control as any other scholarly journal. Moreover, Open Access allows for maximum visibility, uptake, and use of the published material.

    Why Open Access?

  • Quick discoverability: With open access, researchers can read and build on the findings of others without restriction.
  • Public enrichment: Much scientific and medical research is paid for with public funds. Open access allows taxpayers to see the results of their investments.
  • Research exchange: Open access means that teachers and their students access the latest research findings throughout the world.

    Permissions

    No special permission is required to reuse all or part of an article published by the Southern Brazilian Journal of Chemistry, including figures and tables. For articles published under open access Creative Common CC BY license, any part of the article may be reused without permission provided that the original article is clearly cited. Reuse of an article does not imply endorsement by the authors or the Southern Brazilian Journal of Chemistry.

    Article-processing charges

    Open access publishing is not without costs. The Southern Brazilian Journal of Chemistry, therefore, levies an article-processing charge for each article accepted for publication, plus VAT or local taxes where applicable. If the corresponding author's institution participates in our open access membership program, some or all of the publication costs may be covered.

    We routinely provide lower charges for authors from low-income countries. For other countries, article-processing charge waivers or discounts are granted on a case-by-case basis to authors with insufficient funds. Authors can request a waiver or discount during the submission process. For further details, see our article-processing charge page.
